Refund and Returns Policy

1. Introduction

Immediate Response First Aid (IRFA) aims to deliver high-quality first aid training and to treat all participants fairly. This Refund and Returns Policy outlines your rights and obligations when cancelling or seeking a refund for any IRFA course bookings.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all nationally recognised and non-accredited courses delivered by IRFA, including (but not limited to) HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID012, HLTAID015 and UETTDRRF06.

3. Key Definitions

  • Course Fee: Total amount paid for enrolment, inclusive of all resources, equipment, assessments and certification.
  • Participant: Any individual or corporate delegate enrolled in an IRFA course.
  • Working Day: Monday to Friday, excluding Australian public holidays.

4. Participant-Initiated Cancellations & Refunds

  1. Dissatisfaction
    • If you are not satisfied with the course content or delivery, you may request a full refund at any time.
  2. More than 48 Hours’ Notice
    • If you postpone or cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice before the course start date, you may choose either:
      • A full refund of your Course Fee (processed within 14 working days); or
      • Transfer to a future mutually agreeable course date at no extra charge.
  3. Less than 48 Hours’ Notice
    • If you postpone or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you may transfer to a future course date subject to a A$20 administration fee, deducted from your Course Fee.
  4. Non-Completion of Online Assessment
    • If you fail to complete any required online pre-course assessment by the specified date, you may transfer to another date. A A$20 processing fee applies, deducted from your Course Fee.
  5. No-Show / Early Withdrawal
    • Participants who leave or fail to attend before completing all assessment tasks forfeit 100% of the Course Fee. Extenuating circumstances may be considered—please contact us promptly.

5. Corporate Cancellations & Refunds

  1. More than 5 Working Days’ Notice
    • Corporate bookings cancelled with over 5 working days’ notice will receive a full refund within 10 working days, unless a future date is arranged.
  2. Less than 5 Working Days’ Notice
    • Corporate cancellations within 5 working days incur a A$100 cancellation fee; any remaining Course Fee will be refunded within 10 working days, unless a rescheduled date is agreed.

6. Course Cancellation by IRFA

IRFA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course due to insufficient enrolment, trainer unavailability or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be:

  • Notified as soon as possible; and
  • Offered either a full refund of all fees paid or transfer to another date at no additional cost.

7. Returns of Course Materials

All training materials (printed and digital workbooks, manuals, etc.) are provided as part of the Course Fee and are not eligible for return. Concerns about materials quality should be raised under our Complaints Policy.

8. How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund or course transfer:

  1. Submit a written request to info@irfa.com.au, quoting your booking reference, course date and reason.
  2. IRFA will acknowledge receipt within 2 working days and confirm next steps.

9. Processing Timeframes

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within the timeframes specified above (14 working days for individuals; 10 working days for corporate clients) once your request is approved.

10. Policy Updates

IRFA may update this Policy at any time. The version effective on the date of your booking applies. The current Policy is available at https://irfa.au/refund-policy.
